Gas Appliance Repairs

Gas Appliance Repairs in Albury & Wodonga

Gas appliances are fantastic. In general, gas appliances are cheaper, faster and easier to maintain. They are also better for the environment than their electric counterparts. However, natural gas presents some risks. Improperly installed or broken gas appliances can result in hazardous gas leaks. If you suspect gas is leaking from the pipework that connects to your appliances or the appliances themselves, our licensed gasfitters at Albury Wodonga Plumbing Services can help.

Signs of a Gas Leak

If you see any of the following signs, you may have a gas leak:

  • A rotten egg odour
  • A hissing or whistling sound near a gas appliance
  • Dirt or debris being blown into the air

What to Do if You Have a Gas Leak

Australian Gas Networks gives these instructions: "If you smell gas in the street or on your property before or including the meter, you should call your state gas leaks and emergency Number (VIC/NSW: 1800 427 532) to locate and repair the leak. If, however, you believe the leak to be after the meter on a section of pipework connecting your appliances or on the appliance itself, you should contact a licensed natural gas fitter to rectify the problem."
